Celebrated my mom's 90th birthday here. Everything was perfect. Food was delicious. The owner personally came over to wish her happy birthday. The ambience was memorable.

Had my day-late birthday dinner at Club A on a Sunday evening. First off, reservations were easy to make and easy to change. Ambiance at Club A felt very much like "old school gangster-ish" to me. Deep red walls and ceiling, lots of photos on the walls (downstairs). Dark. Service was impeccable. Just enough attention to make sure everything was good to go, otherwise I was left to enjoy my meal. For dinner I started with the calamari. It was well presented, well cooked and nicely flavored. The marinara sauce was good, not overpowering. A nice accent. I had the 20 oz. bone-in ribeye (with au poivre sauce on the side) as my main, with a side of asparagus. I don't think I've ever had a steak that literally melted in my mouth. This steak did. Perfectly done (medium), so tender and so juicy. The au poivre sauce was, again, a nice accent to the meat. Not a necessity, but I do enjoy au poivre sauce. The asparagus was perfectly cooked, every bit was edible. For dessert (comp) I was presented with a "happy birthday" tiramisu which was wonderful. They even took a picture for me, and presented me with a card that Bruno signed. (pardon my picture but I took it after I had started digging in). Hands down one of the best steaks I've ever had.

My boyfriend and I visited Bruno's Club A Steakhouse over the weekend and were beyond impressed. Not only was the food incredible, but the service was outstanding. Bruno, the owner, came over to talk to us and even sent over a complimentary ravioli, which was excellent. I highly recommend visiting and we are looking forward to going back in the future!

We celebrated our anniversary last week and we totally enjoyed the fine dining at Club A Steakhouse ... The owner Bruno & waitstaff Shaun were very friendly and helpful ... our steaks were superbly seasoned and cooked to perfection; the restaurant ambience was great with live jazz band music playing. We would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for great dining experience.

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 3/5 - The entrance is not clearly marked. Insufficiently visible signage. It was pouring out and I walked right by the restaurant all the way to the end of the block and had to double back. Also the sign says "Bruno's Club A" instead of just plain "Club A", which is how it's listed on the restaurant's website, on Google, and on Yelp. The inconsistency is confusing. - They were going to sit me upstairs instead of on the main floor, until I asked. I don't want to walk up stairs. No elevator. Main floor seating is not as much square footage as above though. - The ambiance is definitely that of an old school steakhouse. The walls are painted red and have black and white photos of people who have dined there before, some famous people perhaps. Similar to the interior of "Strip House" Steakhouse on East 12th. - There was live music on the first (ground) floor - piano and a lounge singer. They sound good. Performed "Ain't Misbehavin'" by Fats Waller. This helped the ambiance. - The bacon was smaller and thinner than the one I am used to at Peter Luger's. Tasty though. The calamari was a disappointingly small portion size for the cost, and was not visually nor texturally impressive. - The steak was of decent size and looked great. It was 20 ounces of dry aged USDA Prime for $72, which is fairly priced these days for NYC. It was not evenly seasoned, though, as I could tell there was more salt in the center of the steak than at the edges. Flavor wise, it was not bad, but was not the most flavorful steak I've had. - The fries are good, and better than some of those served at other steakhouses. They have a crisp texture on the outside but are soft on the inside. The description says garlic, thyme, rosemary, parmesan, but I didn't really taste any of the seasonings. Maybe some parmesan, but nothing like the excellent garlic parm fries at Yankee stadium, as you can really taste the garlic on those. - They included a complimentary dessert of tiramisu and a cream puff. I think they do this for everyone. - Apart from their hesitancy at the beginning to seat me on the ground floor (there were a few other parties seated on that level but plenty of tables, not sure what the problem was) the service was prompt and fine. - For two appetizers, a steak, and a side, my bill was $153 including tax and tip. I only drank tap water, no wine or cocktail this time. I recognize that this includes a "free" dessert, but sugar isn't for everyone and I'd rather make that choice for myself. So for me, the overall value was not great.

We were craving a good steak dinner and decided on Club A for a first time visit. What a great choice we made. From the start we were escorted to our table by the lovely Victoria, who later took a picture of us to commemorate the evening, such a great touch. It's already in a frame. Nick our server was so friendly and accommodating as was Shend who assisted with the great service provided. We started with the Caesar and Beet salads which were delicious and a lighter option because we knew the porterhouse and sides would be filling. Nick brought over complimentary mushroom ravioli that were a great surprise and so good. The steak was cooked perfectly, medium rare to medium and had a nice crust on the outside. I knew from my first knife cut it was going to be tender and also juicy. Nick gave us all 4 sauces, each one better than the other. The whipped potatoes and creamed spinach were the perfect steakhouse sides. We were given a complimentary dessert plate that was so nice. Even though we were stuffed we managed to finish almost the entire plate. The owner Bruno is such a lovely man and really takes pride in maintaining a first rate establishment. The ambiance is so pretty and romantic, perfect for special occasions. They also had live music which added to our great evening. Club A gets an A+. I can't wait to return.

When in New York, you have to find the gems. This is one of them. We were looking for a high quality steakhouse, but didn't want the usual big names that you can get in other cities. We made a reservation with ease. Upon arrival, we were seated immediately. It's a nice, intimate size restaurant with a romantic upstairs. Service was good. Our food was delicious. They gave us a complimentary mushroom ravioli and it was so buttery. We opted for the Porterhouse for two. It was just slightly overdone as it was sitting in a sizzling plate for some time. All the sides were cooked perfectly. We were celebrating a birthday and they were able to put together a birthday desert platter.

Amazing!! 14oz strip steak. Sautéed asparagus. Purée potatoes Ambiance is chill with live singer and musicians downstairs. Upstairs they play what seemed like blues/jazz. After a while they played the live music upstairs. She was really Good! All was amazing! Loved the flavor of it all! Steak was juicy even tho I ordered medium well. I know the cooks hated me but I can't eat red!! lol They gave us complimentary dessert trio of cheesecake, tiramisu and cream puffs. Puffs were my favorite!! Service was impeccable. This is a must try if ever visiting NY. Promise you won't be disappointed

Club A Steakhouse gives the classic steakhouse fine dining feel. From the moment you walk in, to your first and last bite. You can expect what you've signed up for. Taste: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Value for Money: 3.5/5 (4.5/5 if using Groupon/Pre-Fixe) Ambiance: 4.5/5 We had the Pre-Fixe which the menu can be found in the images! 1) Mixed Green Salad: Not bad! 2) Club A Bacon: There's something about very thick slabs of pork that make it taste better versus when it is thin. 3) Filet Mignon (10 oz): Good ol' steak. Doesn't come with a sauce or anything else 4) Creamed Spinach: great! 5) Mac & Cheese: Not bad 6) Tiramisu: Not bad again This was a standard classic. Nothing modern or hip or new. You get what you expect!

Had a great dinner with a friend here. The restaurant is cozy and dark and they play live music! The wine list is incredible, love their selection of cabs they have, however I wish more of them were offered on the single pour menu. The food was delicious, steak was melt in your mouth and the potato purée and asparagus were rich and seasoned perfectly! The dessert was complimentary and was just alright but I liked how they gave us a selection. If you're looking for a great NYC steakhouse, this is a must!
